Are business cards still a thing? Without getting all Patrick Bateman here, there was a time when a business card would rightly be judgementally thumbed by newly met associates. It's material and design choices considered carefully and the giver evaluated as a worthy associate (or otherwise). Well, bringing this traditional practise bang up to date is V1CE cards. Super sleek, eco-friendly and wholly customisable cards which transfer your details with a neat little NFC tap. Sad days for the Roladex though.
 

Brandsplaining – marketing's subtle sexism ➜

In other things that could do with updating, a recently released book; Brandsplaining, shines light on some of the surprisingly shadowy ways in which sexism still permeates the marketing industry. In a data-driven industry and with so many brands hopping aboard the fempowerment bandwagon, it seems the gulf between how women actually are and how they are 1) portrayed, and 2) influenced to act, is still staggeringly wide.
